It’s been a busy and creative 48 hours in my Stampin N Scrapin Studio! The good news is that I’ve got creations to share with all of you. My friend, Olivia is preparing for a baby shower activity where all the participants put together 12X12 scrapbook layouts for the new arrivals 1st year scrapbook. In my opinion that is a one sweet, special, and treasured gift to give the parents; and all the guest get to add their touch by designing the elements provided to them in a packet for a two page spread. They can add personal messages on the front or back of the layout to the new baby and parents. I love the concept and quite frankly I loved helping design the elements for some of these layout.
So, I was looking at this 3D page that Olivia purchased from Archiver’s and was trying to figure out what we were going to be able to do with the 2nd page to add to this already awesome 3D page.
All we did was add the double layered photo mat to this page. The monkey and elephant are adorable and we did not want to take away from their cuteness factor so we added a double mat for a 5X7 photo mat.
I have to say, I think we hit this one out of the park . Not this how we put the layout together, but all of the elements are in a kit and they can arrange it as they please. This is just how we laid the elements out. So we started with a 12×12 embossed piece of Bazzil cardstock and then I went looking for an overlay on my Close To My Heart Artbooking cartridge.
While looking at the pre made 3D page I noticed the leave shapes and remembered this background from the Artbooking Cricut Collection. I think the shapes inside the over lay will pull out the shapes from the 3D page. This overlay is incredible in person. The photos do not do it justice. It was cut at 11″.
The next detail we wanted to pull over to the 2nd layout were these adorable flowers. Our flowers are cut from the same page as our overlay in the Artbooking manual using the same Bazzil embossed card stock and some yellow textured card stock from DCWV from my stash. We added some bling on the flowers and inked them using yellow ink with a sponge. They are wonderful elements and we used an odd number (7) of them on this page.
Well we had to add a palm tree. First because the leaves on the palm tree on the Artbooking Cricut cartridge match the leaves on the 3D page. Second, because the baby will live in SC and well they are all about the Palm tree!
We added a photo mat to our page for a 4X4 photo. It’s very layered, but we want the photo to pop on this page as there are a lot of elements. Next we added the title. This is on the same page as the Palm Tree on the Artbooking cartridge. It was cut at 3″ Real Dial Size. A little bling for the I and we were done with this element. Lastly we added the sun from Life’s A Beach cartridge and lots of bling. It’s a perfect final touch for this layout.
