It’s in the challenging times of our life that we find out where our weaknesses are. We quickly come to realize that what we thought we had or where we thought we were is not enough to hold us together in the midst of a life test.
It can be that in our test we will find our testimony if we are willing to travel the road laid out before us. Psalm 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the whole person; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
Not all choose or are willing to go this journey of the test. A lot of people choose to escape it. To escape is to run. We do not have to run from the test in our lives, we are able to travel all of life’s test and rewards because we serve Jehovah who is for us and goes with us and thankfully before us. It’s our journey in the difficult times of life that God will show us His ways.
Psalm 19:8-14 The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure and bright, enlightening the eyes. The reverent fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even than much fine gold; they are sweeter also than honey and drippings from the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is Your servant warned reminded, illuminated, and instructed; and in keeping them there is great reward. Who can discern his lapses and errors? Clear me from hidden and unconscious faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then shall I be blameless, and I shall be innocent and clear of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my firm, impenetrable Rock and my Redeemer.
When uncertainty enters our life we must return to the core of what we KNOW to be true. There is no greater way to get back to the core of who you are than to follow the instruction of The Lord.
Psalm 37:5-6 Commit your way to the Lord,Trust also in Him,And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,And your justice as the noonday.
If we are to lay hold of the prize and make it ours we must not allow the extreme highs or extreme lows to dictate our actions. We must be temperate in all things and bring our entire being into discipline according to the Word.
1 Corinthians 9:24-25 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
When evil has seemingly won against you or one you love remember this from Genesis 50:20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
Our strength for the test is not in us. When we are weak, He is strong. Pray without ceasing. In our prayer life and time in the presence of our Savior is where we become less and He becomes more. It’s His strength in and through us that turns a test into a testimony.
Blessings and His Peace,
“May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand”
