2017 Scrapbook Expo Duluth Georgia Card Swap

Getting a few cards made for this year Scrapbook Expo Card Swap on Saturday here in Duluth Georgia. Be sure to check out my previous two post for additional cards.

I am enjoying this Darcie’s Fairy Tales stamp set. I am keeping the coloring simple and using a simple color pallet.

The background is Sizzix Paisley embossing folder. This card swap theme is embossing folders or bling. I plan to add a little bling once I get them all done.

The heart shape was cut from Stampin Up! Heart dies using my scrapsof gold paper.

Happy stamping to all!

Scrapbook Expo 2017 Saturday Card Swap Ideas

Back for another card for the Duluth, Georgia Saturday Scrapbook Expo Card Swap. Keeping it simple and will add some bling later once I have them all done.

This is a Darcie’s Fairy Tales stamp set. The stamped images were fussy cut. Really need that ScanNCut!

A Sizzx Paisley embossing folder, a label cut form gold scraps, and the perfect sentiment from MayMay Made It Just Wanted You To Know stamp set.

Stamping is much more satisfying using the Misti. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves to stamp.

Happy stamping!

Scrapbook Expo Card Swap 2017 Duluth GA

This years (2017) Saturday card swap theme is using embossing folders or bling. I had some time in my stampin studio this weekend with the older grands and was able to make three cards for the swap. I decided I need to keep it simple and if I have time I can always add more bling at the last minute.

I have Darcie’s Fairy Tales stamp set that hadn’t been inked from last years Expo shopping so I gave it some ink love using Memento Black ink and my Misti.

Simple coloring with markers, gel pens, and Wink of Stella clear pen. A paisley Sizzix embossing folder ran through my Cuttlebug on Neenah White 110# card stock once. The sentiment is from a MayMay Made It stamp club set. I think it’s called Wanted You To Know but that may not be correct.

Using scraps of gold card stock I cut a label to mount this adorable Unicorn on. I had to fussy cut this stamped image, but maybe a ScanNCut will be in my future soon.

Happy stamping to all! I

I’ll be back with another card soon!

Christmas Cardinal Card Featuring To You And Yours Stamp – Close To My Heart

Hello Crafty Friends,

It’s been a whirlwind week around here, but I did manage to get a few Christmas cards done and two videos feature two different color techniques.

The first video is using markers to color my stamped image. I stamped the image using my large Fiskars stamp press and Momento Tuxedo Black ink.

I used the Art Philosophy Cricut Bundle to cut my two layers of circles to go on top of the scalloped Nestabilities die that was cut from white glitter paper from DCWV.

When these paper stacks go on sale, you need to snatch them up! They are perfect for Nestabilites and your Cricut.

Each of the holly berry leaves is stamped and colored with the markers and then fussy cut 3 times for each card. It’s worth it but time consuming. A good thing to do while watching tv. I used two on the outside of the card and saved one for the inside.

The 2nd card was made using watercolor crayons in my stash. You can watch the video HERE.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a very blessed and crafty week!

Simple Scrapbook Layouts

Hello! This is Donna Lee from StampinnscrapinWithDonnaLee and I am thrilled to be here to share two simple scrapbook layouts with you!

The first layout is 8.5×11 and was made using what was on my Scrapin Island. I had a Stampin wheel that I used for my borders. Simply roll the Stampin wheel in your ink and roll onto your card stock.

Next I found a Nestabilities DieCut and a scrap of pink card stock to use behind my photo.

I adore my Cuttlebug and have gotten my $ worth out of it. In my opinion it’s one of best deals for a die cut machine out on the market still today. You can see it cuts perfectly.

I found a 6X6 paper stack at Hobby Lobby called Madeline that adore! I found this sheet and ripped the edge off, then inked and distressed the edges. I added the die cut after applying some chalk ink to the edges and then adhered everything together, including my photo.

Embellishments took some digging under piles of papers but alas I did find these flowers from Stampin Up that would work with my colors.

I had this ribbon left on my Scrapin Island that did not get used for a different project. I think it’s made by May Arts. I love the color and texture it adds to this layout! I found a little box from Michaels/Recollections that had some clear bling left in it to use. A scrap of light blue card stock is my journaling spot to document this page. I do not feel that each page needs a story journaled. Simple captions and the year is perfect for most of my single photo layouts. If there is a story to tell I will often type it out in a word processing program and then print it on the back of my layout before I get started adhering everything.

So I had another photo that I wanted to scrapbook for my grand daughters album and decided to use this same layout but on a larger scale. This time I decided to use my Cricut Expression, Gypsy, and Close To My Heart Artiste Cricut cartridge.

I cut one of the flowers on page 57 at .75 inches tall out of several small pieces of double sided paper. Its a great way to use up scraps of your favorite papers and keep them in a handy place for future use!

This cartridge cuts at such small sizes with great detail. I adore it and can’t wait to get my hands on the new Art Booking Cricut Bundle from Close To My Heart that will be available to order on August 1st here!

Here are three flowers of the 5 flowers that I added some leaves using a Two Way Bird Punch and some pearls for extra little elegance! I adore these flowers and they are SO easy to cut, assemble and put on your cards or scrapbook layouts using a glue dot or liquid adhesive.

Here are two more flowers from the Artiste cartridge. You can see that one of these is rolled more loose so that I could add the bling to the inside of it. Super easy to make your own flowers and add some pearls or bling to dress it up.

Again I used the two way bird punch for my leaves and added some chalk to them.

I used my Nestabilities die cut and Cuttlebug again, the same ribbon, and more scraps from my Scrapin Island to wrap up a page for my grand daughters scrapbook.

The paper is from the same Madeline Paper Stack from Hobby Lobby and I used the same Stampin Wheel as in the first layout. Being that these 2 layouts will be in two different scrapbooks it did not bother me to repeat the same layout design.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a blessed and crafty day!

Scrapin With My Scraps – Two Layouts & A Card

Today I was inspired to create a two page scrapbook layout and a card using the scrap paper that are out on my desk. My desk is absolute mess because it was covered up with scraps and tools from previous projects.

20130511-202051.jpg I decided to use scraps from a pack of Basic Grey Gypsy.

I did not have enough paper to make 12×12 layouts so I went 8.5X11 as I had some white card stock on my desk. I’ve had these two pictures of my grand daughter on my desk for a long time and decided to scrap about her bout with RSV.

These flowers were made a few months ago using some Nestabilities dies and Heartfelt Creations stamp set. They are labor intensive, but I like how they turned out and definitely wanted to use them. I used a few border punches and scraps from the Gypsy paper pack.

I used Creating Keepsakes software to print my journaling after I laid out all of my elements on the page. I love being able to journal like this as it allows me to tell more of the story than I am able to when I use my own handwriting.

I don’t always buy these paper packs, but I really liked this one so I bought the entire pack & I have every intention of using it all. While my desk was cluttered with all this stuff I used a card base that I had made a few weeks ago and never completed along with a few more scraps from the Gypsy paper pack to make a cute card. I did get my box of ribbon scraps and a few stamps from my closet to use on this card.

I love dressing up the inside of the card and I literally was able to do this with a cute stamp in my stash stamped with Stazon Ink (black) on a small piece of Gypsy printed card stock and then fussy cut it and adhered to the inside card base.
