Gnome for Thanksgiving!

Today I am playing with the cover sheet (seen just below) for Photo Play’s Gnome For Thanksgiving Collection Pack.

Today’s card is an A2 (4.5INX5.5IN finished size) card base from my stash and used a Stitched Rectangle Die from Pink and Main to die cut the rest of the cover paper that has the sampling of all the card stock in the collection. The happy thanksgiving banner from the cover sheet adds the perfect greeting. Both the stitched rectangle and the banner were popped up on foam squares. You can also use foam sheets to pop up your mats and embellishments.

Happy Thanksgiving

The inside of the card was matted with some scrap card stock and a smaller mat that was cut with the same stitched die from Pink & Main. I used a strip cut from the cover sheet to anchor the Gnome holding the turkey platter who is from the cover sheet & popped up using foam squares.

It’s easy to create cards when you have great paper collections. Thanks for stopping by my Blog today. I’ll have a few more cards to share with you using more items from the cover sheet and some of the cut a-parts in the collection that are perfect for crafting quick cards.

Blessings and His Peace,

Quick And EZ Birthday Card

Using the Crazy full-size stamp sets and some simple masking techniques allows for a very quick and easy card.

Ahead of time I have stamped, masked, and die cut card fronts using these Crazy Dogs and cats from Tim Holtz and Stampendous. I color them as I sit nearby while my hubby watches another DIY episode on HGTV. Creating a stash of go to card fronts for an easy card.

The happy is from a MayMayMadeIt Big Time Sayings stamp set. While stamping for a project I go ahead and stamp images or sentiments from the same stamp set using my scraps and then cut them out using my Brother ScanNCut or fussy cutting! I prefer the ScanNCut! I keep these in a small drawer to have on hand. Happy goes on a number of cards so I can stamp birthday or anniversary as needed…

The birthday sentiment is from another MayMayMadeIt stamp set called Brew-Tiful. Be check it out it’s a must have in my opinion.

The stitched dies are from Pink and Main. This is another must have as I can quickly use these to make additional layers for my card fronts using my scraps from other projects. No drawers of unused scraps, when you take a few minutes to use what you have for future craft or card. Craft smart not hard!

This card was put together in under 10 minutes this morning. I added all the layers to a precut and scored A2 card base and stamped the Birthday sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed week!

2017 Scrapbook Expo Duluth Georgia Card Swap

Getting a few cards made for this year Scrapbook Expo Card Swap on Saturday here in Duluth Georgia. Be sure to check out my previous two post for additional cards.

I am enjoying this Darcie’s Fairy Tales stamp set. I am keeping the coloring simple and using a simple color pallet.

The background is Sizzix Paisley embossing folder. This card swap theme is embossing folders or bling. I plan to add a little bling once I get them all done.

The heart shape was cut from Stampin Up! Heart dies using my scrapsof gold paper.

Happy stamping to all!

Scrapbook Expo 2017 Saturday Card Swap Ideas

Back for another card for the Duluth, Georgia Saturday Scrapbook Expo Card Swap. Keeping it simple and will add some bling later once I have them all done.

This is a Darcie’s Fairy Tales stamp set. The stamped images were fussy cut. Really need that ScanNCut!

A Sizzx Paisley embossing folder, a label cut form gold scraps, and the perfect sentiment from MayMay Made It Just Wanted You To Know stamp set.

Stamping is much more satisfying using the Misti. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves to stamp.

Happy stamping!

Scrapbook Expo Card Swap 2017 Duluth GA

This years (2017) Saturday card swap theme is using embossing folders or bling. I had some time in my stampin studio this weekend with the older grands and was able to make three cards for the swap. I decided I need to keep it simple and if I have time I can always add more bling at the last minute.

I have Darcie’s Fairy Tales stamp set that hadn’t been inked from last years Expo shopping so I gave it some ink love using Memento Black ink and my Misti.

Simple coloring with markers, gel pens, and Wink of Stella clear pen. A paisley Sizzix embossing folder ran through my Cuttlebug on Neenah White 110# card stock once. The sentiment is from a MayMay Made It stamp club set. I think it’s called Wanted You To Know but that may not be correct.

Using scraps of gold card stock I cut a label to mount this adorable Unicorn on. I had to fussy cut this stamped image, but maybe a ScanNCut will be in my future soon.

Happy stamping to all! I

I’ll be back with another card soon!

Using PixScan Mat and Jar of Fun Stamp Set

I am so excited to tell you about my first experience using the PixScan mat with my Silhouette Portrait and to show you two cards I was able to quickly make using one of my new favorite stamp sets from MayMay Made It!

First let me tell you that I was seriously considering purchasing the Brother Scan and Cut2 because fussy cutting its just not happening in my craft room anymore. It’s tedious, time consuming, and is not good for those of us who have the annoying arthritis in our hands. As I was weighing the cost and benefits of this new machine, my friend told me that she thought the Silohouette had the scan and cut feature. So I decided I needed to do more research. You Tube was my go to place ot see what people were doing on their Silohouette’s.

The first resource I found was the awesome video showing the Silhouette PixScan mat and how to use it! So it didn’t take long for me to decide to order the mat from Amazon with free Prime 2 day shipping and try it for myself.

Above you see that I took a white card stock and stamped my images using Momento black ink. I applied the card stock to the PixScan mat and took a picture of it using my iPadAir2. Using the Design Studio software and using Kens video I was able to calibrate my iPadAir2 very quickly and then import this picture into the DS software. Super easy to do! Take the picture from above. Make sure you have good lighting and get the picture of the complete scanpix mat. Avoid shadows and glare. You will get the hang of it!

Once imported into the DS software I used the trace feature to trace my stamped images. So let me point you in the right direction for some good videos about using this feature. Click HERE and then watch the tutorials for some really incredible training and insight. Take some notes and then practice with a stamped image you want to use for your card or scrapbook pages.

My images did not cut perfectly but I was able to use almost all of them.  I used Distress Inks and come Grumbacher watercolor to color my cut images for my cards.

This stamp set is from MayMayMadeIt.com and it’s called Jar of Fun. As I get more advanced with tracing the stamped images in the Design Studio software I will be able to cut the stamped images even closer.

I used some scraps of paper from a 6X6 pad to use on a very simple swing fold card using this adorable Jar of Fun stamp set.

The inside is just a plain jar so I have room to write a short notes and a few of the lightening bugs, that can also be used a lady bugs!

I like the way it turned out and I am so excited to learn more about tracing and getting better at using this awesome tool from Silohoutte!

I opted to keep this card simple on the front and inside.

I love how both of these cards turned out and how easy it was to get my Silohoutte Portrait to cut my stamped images out for me.

As always use what you have and make something beautiful, have fun, and share it with someone else!

Blessings!

Be Still And Know I Am God – A2 Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a quick card that I made using some of my Gelli prints & a two of my favorite stamps.

20140516-203819.jpg

My friend and I got together and made some gelli prints a few weeks ago. It’s so much fun! You never know what you are going to get, but it’s a great way to play with color and then find ways to use your prints.

20140516-204054.jpg

I used the Gelli print on the left in the first photo and the above stamp with some Stazon ink for my focal point.

20140516-204356.jpg

I inked the edge of my stamped image and then mounted it on some white card stock. I used another Gelli print to add a layer to the front of my card base and mounted the stamped image at an angle.

20140516-204713.jpg

I stamped a favorite verse of mine and embossed it with Navy ink and clear embossing powder.

I took a scrap of the piece I used to stamp my main image on and used a scalloped edge border punch to decorate the inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Blessings,

Donna Lee

12 Tags 2014 – Equals Two Masculine Cards!

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Last night I saw the link to Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2014 on Facebook and decided to see what I could create using his technique for March.

20140302-163735.jpg

My grandson was in my Stampin Studio playing with my second sons Lego’s so I had some time to stamp! I can always use some masculine cards, so I went with one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! stamp sets, Classic Pickups and the tree line is from another favorite, Noble Deer. I used a favorite paper pack from Cosmo Cricket, Wanted Collection that I still have in my paper stash. I pulled two of the Distress Inks (Vintage Photo and Old Paper) and a few markers.

20140302-164102.jpg

I cut my tags from some vanilla card stock using the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

20140302-164303.jpg

I created two tags just like Tim did, using the second generation stamp method for the 2nd one. Above is the first stamped tag that I’ve used as the focal point on my A2 sized card (4.5″X5.5″). I hand colord the tree line stamp using my markers. The enjoy the ride sentiment is from Close To My Heart, but no longer available. I added some string and two brads and one of the coordinating elements from the Wanted Collection. I also distressed the edges of my tag using a distressing tool.

20140302-164650.jpg

Above the 2nd generation stamped tag. I added a little chalk using a blender pen to add some additional texture to the tag. I switched up my papers for the card front and inked the edges of the papers and the base of my card.

20140302-164846.jpg

I always do a test stamp before I stamp on my project and on my work island was a piece of tissue paper. So I stamped my pick up on it. I liked the way it looked, so I fussy cut it and used it inside my card with a little vellum adhesive.Using this stamp on some tissue paper for a gift is a great idea! I do love this stamp set and being that I live in a house full of men, it’s very appropriate even years later!

20140302-165016.jpg

Thanks Tim for the inspiration and the technique! Anytime I can get a two for one is always a good deal!

I appreciate your stopping by my blog today and hope you found something to inspire your creative spirit. Have a fantastic week!

Blessings!

Our #1 Transformer – Autobot and Optimus Prime

Hello Crafty Friends!

Merry Christmas Eve! I pray today is filled with great memories, hope, and special times with family and friends.

We are doubly blessed on this day. Not only is it the Eve of our Lord and Saviors birth whom we love, adore, and find our hope and strength in. It’s also the birthday of our Grandson.

20131224-064017.jpg

Today he is 4! Four years ago he arrived at 33 weeks gestation weighing in at 3 pounds 8 ounces. What a precious gift he is to our family.

Recently he started watching the cartoon, Rescue Bots and is all about Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and all the other Autobots. That is the theme of today’s birthday party and so I made his card accordingly.

20131224-064418.jpg

I showed you this card earlier this week. I grabbed the image on the internet and used a Silohouette Portrait to trace and cut it. I love how it turned out! Oh so easy to use and I love being able to find what I need and make embellishments for cards and my scrapbook pages.

20131224-064856.jpg

Here is the inside of my card. Again I used an image from the internet and used the trace feature. I made a few adjustments in the trace feature menu & was ready to cut Optimus Prime! This is the figure my Grandson likes most of all. I cut him in yellow for contrast against the black card stock. This is textured paper from DCWV and I love that it cut so smoothly!

20131224-065231.jpg

G loves these miniature Rescue Bots and they will top his cake today.

More Silohouette projects to come in the future and some more Cricut ones too!

Merry Christmas to all! I’ll see you here again before the New Year arrives. May His presence be your perfect present this Christmas and all year long!

Blessings!

One More Christmas Card Featuring Joys Of The Season and Artbooking Cricut Cartridges

Hello Crafty Friends! Welsome to my Stampin N Scrapin studio!

Today I want to share just one more Christmas card that is easy to make using the Joys Of The Season Cricut cartridge. I’ve cut the Rocking Horse card on the page below at 5.37 inches using my Gypsy.

20131219-050226.jpg

I cut the card base using DCWV card stock from the Joys Of The Season Cricut cartridge.

20131219-050342.jpg
I set the width of my card to 8.5 inches and the Gypsy set the height for me. Cricut Craft Room will do the same.

Using my Gypsy, I was able to size my rocking horse to fit perfectly over the cut out on the front on my card. My rocking horse and it’s layers are all cut at 1.75 inches. I cut the blackout, shadow, and the layers. On the layers I used the hide contour feature to hide different pieces so that I could cut the tail and mane in a different color. Below is a picture of all my layers.

20131219-050850.jpg

I use a Scor Pal to score my card base.

20131219-051050.jpg

I used a piece of DCWV glitter card stock behind the window. This gets covered up on the inside of the card.

20131219-051326.jpg
Now it’s time to adhere the layers of the rocking horse. For these small pieces I prefer to use my glue pen or Tombow Liquid Mono Adhesive.

20131219-051343.jpg

The brown shadow has Stampin Dimensional’s on it to pop it up. The Stampin Up dimensional are the perfect height for this.

20131219-051353.jpg

His saddle, bridle, mane, tail and the accent piece are next. I used DCWV card stock and was able to use up some scraps to make all of this card except for the card base.

20131219-051414.jpg

For my sentiment I went to the Close To My Heart Artbooking Cricut collection. It’s cut at 4.25 inches. I did NOT use real dial size. It’s cut from a scrap of Recollections Foil paper from Michael’s.

20131219-051433.jpg

I wish each of you a blessed and Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy, prosperous and Happy New Year!

Blessings,

Donna Lee
